Frostpunk 2, the highly anticipated narrative-driven city-builder, has encountered a delay in its release schedule. Originally slated for launch on July 25, 11 Bit Studios has announced a new release date of September 20.
The decision to delay the game follows a recent beta phase where players provided valuable feedback. Design director Jakub Stokalski and art director Lukasz Juszczyk expressed gratitude for the positive response, with the beta receiving an average rating of 8 out of 10. Despite this, they acknowledged that the beta represented only a fraction of the game’s potential, prompting them to reassess and prioritize development goals based on player insights.
The additional time will be used to implement improvements across various aspects of Frostpunk 2. This includes refining existing game mechanics, enhancing the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX), and integrating new features suggested during the beta testing phase.
Initially launching on PC on September 20, Frostpunk 2 is also set to be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms at a later date, further expanding its accessibility to console gamers.
11 Bit Studios remains committed to delivering a polished and engaging experience with Frostpunk 2, ensuring that the extra development time results in a game that meets the expectations of both existing fans and newcomers alike.
